Friday and Saturday 9/15-16, 10% of all bike sale proceeds will go directly to our friends at Epoch Arts. For so many kids that might not be into scouting, team sports, or other hobbies, this wonderful non-profit arts center is HOME, and they deserve some great community support.

Did we mention that pretty much all bikes in the store are on sale? Like up to $1500 off? Yeah, well they are! And every bike purchase gets a FREE HELMET ($55 and up value!)

Speaking of Epoch Arts, their massive yearly tag sale is going on NOW. Stop by and grab some treasures, and support these fine folks and the great work that they do serving the artistic youth of the area. www.epocharts.org

AirLine Cycles strives to be the ultimate family friendly neighborhood bike shop… but that doesn’t mean we don’t race!

We are proud to sponsor the Stage 1 Cycling Team (which started at the first shop Brian worked in 25+ years ago), and on any given weekend we have racers tearing it up on the road, cyclocross, mountain bike, or fat bike race courses, and even the Eastern States Cup Enduro races. Our racers range from 6 to 60+, and compete in all categories from first timers right up through national level contenders!

Our team is focused on fun… but it is amazing how much having fun puts us up on the podium!

Check out the STAGE 1 Cycling & Muddy Mayhem Junior Team Facebook Pages to see what it is all about!  Please take a look, Like and Follow us! We appreciate the support!

Who Rides What

Here's what some of the AirLine Cycles crew is riding this season

Between Giant, Liv, Norco, Cannondale, and Aventon, AirLine Cycles offers hundreds of different bicycle options; rather than scrolling through endless drop-down menus, stop by or give AirLine Cycles a call, and let our friendly staff help you decide what style bike is right for you! While many of our customers choose a great hybrid or gravel bike for cruising the AirLine Trail, here’s what some of the AirLine Cycles crew is riding this season:

Brian – Owner

Brian started working in shops back in the early 90s, and enjoyed shop life in Wallingford CT, Boulder CO, and Portland ME before “getting a real job”; every year he climbed the corporate ladder, but missed being in bike shops more and more. In 2016, he opened AirLine Cycles and hasn’t looked back! In the rare moments when he’s not at the shop, he’s usually mountain biking at Hurd State Park, supporting the Stage 1 Cycling Team at events, or working on his 1750s farmhouse.

Chris – Mechanic

Chris has been turning wrenches for over 30 years in Connecticut! He was the constant friendly face at Sunshine Cycle for most of those years, joining the AirLine family when the shops merged in 2020. He’s equally comfortable working on antique bikes and cutting edge technology. When he’s not at the shop, chances are good that Brutus, a 160-pound Dogue de Bordeaux, is by his side.

David – Mechanic

David relocated to Connecticut from Colorado with over 20 years of bike industry experience. He’s a suspension guru, and as a former professional downhill racer, he’s the go-to guy for gravity bike setup. When he’s not riding in the dirt or wrenching, he’s out enjoying New England with his wife and pups. David has also never been seen in public not wearing Vans.

Jack – Swiss Army Knife

Jack also grew up in shops, suffered through corporate life, and just recently returned to the bike industry. He’s the ultimate utility player, keeping everything at the shop rolling smoothly. He splits his cycling time between road, gravel, and mountain, but almost exclusively on green bikes. When he’s not on two wheels, he’s probably camping with his wife and their dogs, or wrenching on some sort of unusual vehicle.

David – Web Guru from WebLight Media

“My old school Surly Pugsley fat bike keeps winters fun, and I loved trying out cyclocross racing on my Jamis Nova this past fall. And I’ve been test riding lots of bikes. I’m looking for a carbon fiber full suspension bike, probably the Giant Trance.

Patrick – Swiss Army Spoon

Patrick joined the AirLine family first as a talented junior mountain bike and cyclocross racer, and has been part of the shop crew since 2022. He’s all business up front, keeps the party rolling in the back, and sports the epic mullet to seal the deal.

Dudley and Stanley – The Shop Dogs

Dudley the sleek black dog is a purebred mutt, and he lives with Brian when he’s not at the shop. Stanley is the fluffy white English Cream Retriever, and he’s one of Jack’s pups. They enjoy greeting customers, getting belly rubs, and wrestling each other pretty much continuously.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

Brian was very friendly and took care of our bicycles at a very reasonable price. He also completed them a day earlier than he predicted. Great addition to our town with much use on the Airline trail. Check out the bike shop, you won’t be disappointed!
Jeremy Beatty

So happy to have found Airline Cycles. So close to my home, and Brian and George are incredibly helpful and friendly, not to mention highly skilled at what they do. Brian went above and beyond with me to get me AND my bike road-ready! Highly recommend!

Huge shout out to Brian and Airline Cycles for the time, assistance, ordering, delivery, and exceptional customer service to make a birthday very special. Thanks, everything was perfect.
