10-15-2019 – Weather for race day is sunny, with a high near 65

IMPORTANT UPDATE for 2019: ALL CT Series races will be $46 for Day-of registration. Please (pretty please!) pre-register to avoid the extra fees.

STAGE 1 Cycling and AirLine Cycles – The Belltown Originals – are proud to bring cyclocross back to East Hampton for a third year! We packed as much into this event as we could, and then we packed even more… This year Belltown CX is moving locations to Haddam Neck Fairgrounds!  As always, Belltown will include some special features and lots of fun! And this year Belltown will include a cash purse of up to $1000 for P 1/2/3 men and women! Big money on the line and we’re hoping that will help attract the best in Northeast!

We plan to remain part of multiple New England race series, including: the venerable Connecticut Series of Cross (Sunday Races) and the excellent New England CX Best All-Round Rider (NECXBAR) series. Earn points while you race, and most of all, come out and have fun on bikes! Bring yourself, your CX rig and some friends, and we’ll provide a great course, solid competition, fabulous prizes, delicious chow, bumpin’ tunes, and (most of all) good times!

Course Description:  All-new for this year!  Belltown CX will move from the trailer park to the fine digs of the Haddam Neck Fair Ground. As the racing comes to a close, and dusk settles in over the fine New England landscape, we will feature an ultra-fun fat bike event.  So, plan to hang out a little longer and enjoy the festivities! The course will have lots of fun surprises. And, in the spirit of Halloween, we even plan to hold a séance to resurrect John Bonham for a Led Zepplin reunion show. Do we deliver or what?

FREE PROFESSIONAL RACE PHOTOS!! STAGE 1 Cycling has contracted Peter Blake Photo to be on hand photographing all day at the race. Peter is a top-notch cycling photographer and we have covered the costs for all pictures captured on race day.  That’s right!  That means all race photos will be offered to our racers at Belltown CX for free!

(Not too shabby, eh?) Cash $500/5 Places ($160/$120/$100/$70/$50)** + Merch and some sweet schwag too! NOTE: In the event the Pro 1/2/3 fields do not reach at least 10 riders, the prize list will reduce to Cash $380/3 places ($160/$120/$100). We have some amazing prizes and merchandise lined as well from Skatch Labs, Smith Optics, Bishop’s Orchards, and other fantastic sponsors!

Lodging:  There aren’t many hotels in the area.  Official race hotel is The Bevin House B&B.   It is located less than 5 minutes from the race venue and has 6 rooms available in a traditional New England Style Bed and Breakfast.  Please reference the race when you book.  If you’re feeling especially rustic, you could also contact Brooks Nablo and see about sleeping in his camper in his yard.

Other Notes: We’re thrilled to bring bicycle racing (and CX in particular) to East Hampton! Our new venue, the Haddam Neck Fairgrounds is the perfect location for our shananigans! Prepare for a great weekend of fun, fast racing, with some great surprises. And best of all: Indoor bathrooms! See that? We do give a sh*t! While you’re in town, head on over to Paul’s & Sandy’s Too for their annual Pumpkintown celebration.

Pumpkintown USA is home to the famed Pumpkinheads Village, the Halloween Harvest Shop, and the Halloween Hayride.  A portion of all proceeds from Pumpkintown USA are donated to The Sandy Peszynski Breast Cancer Foundation.

Thinking about waiting to register in case of bad weather? No need! Just remember, it’s always sunny in East Hampton! We guarantee it!*
