Note 1: Mountain bikers and especially equestrians, the trails are in a dangerous state this weekend, with heavy wet melting snow on top of mud. Please stay off the trails in Hurd, Salmon River, and pretty much anywhere until things have a chance to dry out.

The trails are in rough shape already due to some significant erosion this year, and giant deep horse hoof prints may last for months at this time of year, ESPECIALLY on the twisty narrow hilly paths.

On behalf of all bikers, riders, hikers, and other trail users, thank you for respecting our trails.

Note 2: Black Friday, small business Saturday, and Thanksgiving sale all start NOW! Come by the shop and save bigly!

Business travel doesn't have to be about the inside of boring hotel rooms. Bring your bike and see the world!

AirLine Cycles has travel cases available for rent, and flying with your bike is often far less expensive than renting a bike...

Remember all summer long when it was 90+° with 95% humidity, and we all longed for fall? Well fall is here, and it is the best bike riding weather of the year, so get out there and enjoy it!

Stop in today to check out the brand new 2019 Norco Bicycles, arriving daily at the shop. The new Bigfoot fatbikes are sweet, and the all mountain Sight A3 is pretty much the perfect Connecticut trail rig!

It was another great weekend of racing at Cheshire Cross, sponsored by our friends at Cheshire Cycle and Repair!

We had some great results for both the East Hampton High School Team (HS team winners of the day!) and for the Stage 1/AirLine Cycles racers. Special congratulations to podium finishers Karel Citroen, Ben Nafis, Brooks Nablo, Brooks Nablo(again), Ryan Zwick, Ruth Spooner, and Kelli Montgomery.

Big congratulations as well to Anthony Vecca on a very strong 5th place in his first race since upgrading to the Pro-1-2 category!

Speaking of upgrades, Brooks Nablo who started the season as a "never-rode-a-CX-bike-before" Cat 5 and quickly upgraded to Cat 4 is staring down the barrel of another upgrade after back to back win and second place finishes on Saturday. Unreal...

There are tons of pictures up at the Stage 1 Cycling Team, but here's a great one of AV racing up the infamous Heckler's Hill, having just passed team member and 30-year Stage 1 racer Dr. Brian Girard, looking distinguished as usual in a shark costume. Thanks to Peter Blake Photography for this great shot!

Thanks as always to team sponsors Fat Orange Cat Brew Co., Skratch Labs, Smith Optics, Giant Bicycles, and Liv Cycling.

AirLine Cycles coming at you from Brodie CX in New Hartford today... Tent City is nice and dry, but I can't say the same for the course. Thanks to our friends at Benidorm Bikes and the The CT Series of CX for hosting a great race today!

Adults are shivering under tents and blankets. The Savage, meanwhile, is unfazed by the weather.

Best CX tailgate west of the Atlantic Ocean. Thanks Brian Holdt for all the great care, tasty chili and delicious apple crisp.

To be a kid again! 👍

Brian and Kate Brown are the best step parents I never had! 😉 Tent party!!!

This was only the beginning, by the end of the day we had sides on the tent and a third tent just for the bikes! Absolutely awesome show today. I even got some chili and apple crisp thanks to Brian Holdt! And hey Brandon Zwick please feed Ryan this week. This way he doesn’t have to eat all the food! 😆👍🏻

In all my excitement about Belltown Cross, I missed a few great results in the gravity-enhanced side of things. Congratulations to JT Hotkowski on winning the Race the Ridge Mountain Bike Challenge last weekend! Well done sir!

Congratulations as well to Hudson "the Savage" Nablo, who wrapped up a strong season in the Eastern States Cup with a third place overall. The Savage was only a few points out of second place... pretty impressive for 7-year old racing in the 9-11 class! Speaking of young guns racing above their age range, it was a great race weekend at teh ESC for the Savage's partner in crime Declan Macauley as well! Especially impressive that both these kids raced wellSaturday at Belltown Cross, then drove 2 hours at the crack of dawn Sunday to race the ESC event without pre-riding the course.

It's great to have such talented youth as part of the team! Great things to come from both these young rippers!

It's a big day for the AirLine family today with some big big racing going on! Anthony Vecca, Ryan Zwick, and Sara Hunt are headed to the biggest cyclocross event that the East Coast has to offer (other than next week's Belltown CX right here in East Hampton) at Gran Prix of Gloucester! Go get 'em!

Best of luck as well to Meg Pennington as she heads out for a casual day on the beach at the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii! It's just a quick 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile ride, and a 26.2 mile run.

In support of Meg and my CX athletes competing today, I'll be swimming in repairs, biking literally hundreds of feet on test rides, and running out to pick up lunch later today. You're not the only Ironman around here Meg!

It's raining, it's pouring, and cancelled rides are boring. Sorry kids, far too wet for riding tonight.

Also, for AirLine Trail users, be careful out there. The huge rain last week caused some pretty big washouts and ruts, and the leaves are covering up a lot of the damage... There are a few hidden hazards, so be careful out there!

Reminder: next Saturday is the Belltown Cross cyclocross race, right here in East Hampton!

The trail is a mess. The leaves are hiding many hazards! Hopefully next week will be better.

Go fast, make bad decisions.

One more reason to shop at your friendly neighborhood bike shop:

This is a rear triangle from a Giant mountain bike which unfortunately developed a crack at a weld. It is rare, but it does happen.

A shop friend brought it by on Tuesday night just before closing. Wednesday morning I submitted the warranty claim. Friday the replacement part arrived, and Saturday the customer was riding on the repaired bike. That's 3 1/2 days from broken to riding.

If your Canyon, Commencal, YT, Diamondback, or other online-only frame breaks, you generally have to mail the frame back to California at a cost of $50-$100... And then you wait. It is hard to say how long it might take, but I guarantee you won't be riding in under four days.

This is one of many reasons to visit a local bike shop. We know bikes, we can help you choose the right products, and if things go wrong, we can help you get it sorted out!

I just have 4 bikes so it’s no problem for me . 😎

I didn't mean to sound rant-y... Mostly I was super impressed with the great warranty process at Giant Bicycles. Their customer service is second to none... Sure doesn't feel like you're dealing with the world's largest bike company! Love me some Giant!

I seen shops take 2 weeks for a simple repair, this is not the norm. This process often takes a month.

Great customer service! You should be proud!

A truly great shop owned by a great guy! Best shop I’ve bought from! Keep up the good work Bro!

6PM AirLine Trail ride leaves from the shop. 615 mountain bike ride leaves from Hurd Park Pavilion. Happy hour to follow at the shop!

It was another great day of racing today at day two of the KMC Cross Fest! Sara Hunt, Ruth Spooner, and Anthony Vecca all put in very strong efforts today, with Ruth and Sara both earning top ten finishes, and with AV fighting his way to another third place podium spot against a very strong field of national level competition.

Thanks as always to Giant Bicycles, Liv Cycling, Skratch Labs, Smith Optics US, and Fat Orange Cat Brew Co. for your support of the team!
